B for Basil

This is one of the oils used in the previous Doterra blend that works brilliantly after or during a hyper stressed period. When your adrenals have been sending out adrenaline and then cortisone and your whole body is buzzing; Basil helps the adrenals to find balance again.

It also has been found to clear and de-clutter trouble minds and in the same manner aid concentration, I have Basil in my diffuser for the first time while writing this and the words are flowing beautifully!

When experiencing the aroma for the first time people have been reminded of Thailand, another of South Africa or a woodland walk. Others have found an association with cough mixture or Pernod! ..while another commented the feeling went deep into their chest allowing them to take breath, to take a moment away from stresses of life.

We spoke about the value of understanding the reflex points that work the cranial nerves - 12 pairs on each side of the brain... so 12 are found on left hand and 12 on the right. The one to use with a drop of Basil oil is top of the index finger (1) that may boost your Olfactory nerve. This one sends sensory impulses relating to smell to the brain and has a close affinity with the limbic system where memories are stored.

Research says that Basil may help the loss of sense of smell. So if needed try rubbing a little of the basil oil into each index finger above the top joint and see if you can feel any tightness in the tissue. 50 seconds up to 5 times a day gives a super boost to the neural pathways.
